Jim Lubert was the kind of person you could always depend on. He moved around in that quite friendly way of his not saying much but always letting you know that if you needed him he'd be there.

When he married Sue he took not only a wife but her four children as well. Suddenly he and his only brother David had an instant family. No one could have done a better job than Jim. He soon had daughter-in-laws and grandchildren but he was there for each and everyone of them and always putting their mother first in everything. Sue had quite a large family of brothers and sisters but Jim seemed to love them all. If there was ever anything she wanted to do for any of them he was by her side.

Jim was not only a family man but a supporter of his town. He worked on the Opp Rescue Squad when it was just a volunteer organization and helped to make it what it is today. He also worked on the Opp Police Force for a number of years before becoming a security guard for the Opp and Micolas Mills.

The crowd that gathered at Wyatt's Funeral Home said it all. They were already lined outside the door and into the parking lot before the doors opened at 6:00pm and were still lined up when it should have closed at 8:00pm. The sorrow of his friends and family said it all.
