Addison Dillow (son of Abram), served in the Virginia Militia, Stowers Company, which guarded the Bland County, VA area.
William Dillow (son of Abram), served in the Confederate Army's Company F, 8th Regimental Cavalary Brigade "Bland Rangers." He enlisted on August 8, 1861 in Bland County, VA and served under Colonel William Neel Harmon. William was paroled from Charleston, West Virginia on April 28, 1865.
Harvey Dillow (son of James, grandson of Abram), served in the Confederate Army's Company H, 29th Virginia Infantry. He enlisted April 2, 1862 at the Mouth of Indian, Tazewell County, VA and served until the end of the war.
William Patton Dillow (son of James, grandson of Abram), served in the Confederate Army's Company K, 45th Vurginia Infantry. He enlisted May 29, 1861. He was captured on March 2, 1865 at the Battle of Waynesboro, VA when his unit of 800 men was surrounded by 7,500 Union troops led by General George Armstrong Custer. William P. was paroled on June 20, 1865 from Fort Delaware. After the war he walked back home to Virginia. He died only a few years later.
James Allen Dillow (son of Addison, grandson of Abram), served in the Confederate Army's Company F, 51st Bland County Tigers(Sam Newberry's Volunteers)as a private.
Samuel Dillow (son of Addison, grandson of Abram), served in the Confederate Army's Company F, 45th Virginia Infantry (Ferber's Brigade) and was wounded in the knee at the Battle of Piedmont.
