During the Civil War (1861-1865) thousands of men from the North and the South served in the Union and Confederate Armies. Men from the Dillow Family served on both sides during the war. Abram Dillow's sons Addison and William fought for the Confederacy as well as four grandsons. Abram's grandsons by his son Robert fought for the Union cause.
