She had got to the westward as far as 125 degrees, when she encountered a tremendous gale of wind from the westward, which drove her back to within a short distance of Kangaroo Island. Having lost her jib-boom and some of her spars, and sustained other damage, Captain Mann then bore up for Port Adelaide for repairs.
