Worcester , Mass Area Address
( 1931-1933?)
-
The Old BUXTON Farm House at 498 Lincoln St, Worcester
MA This is now a large bank or hotel address!
-
Was address where mom & dad first lived and ran the Bolt Co. after
leaving the Worcester Office of ? They lived / rented upstairs and part
of down. This house was torn down for big Lincoln Sheraton Hotel. This
is where they lived during the great depression. Joe & Dot also made
salt bags to tie on auto windshild wipers to melt ice during winter.
-
It was at this address during depression times that Joseph & Dorothy
Bolt were in business making bags of rocksalt to tie on auto windshield
wipers for winter use. Trico History web site says in 1928 they had
a product called "Sleet Wand" that was a salt-type product encased in fabric
and mounted on a wiper arm.
Update on Bolt Sleet Wipers of 1933.This would indicate good product &
no competition from Trico in Massachusetts area .It also looks like only
one bad snow year & depression time that production & sales occured
by family.
All 1933 notes below:
