* Built a super car called CORV8 while still in Wilbraham. It was a
1966

of only 100 made. It had a new 1979 Corvet
LT-1 Solid Lifter 350 V8 engine ( also used in many race cars) in where
the
back seat used to be. The front trunk space was a copper 79 Corvet
radiator( also new from factory) with electric fans. The 66 Corvair
transmission was converted to a close ratio Saginaw box. The posi rear
end
was upgrade with 4 spider gears. The transaxel now had a drive shaft
coming out the front into a new Corvet bell housing. The carburetor
was a
4 barrel Holley, smaller than stock Vet. It had its own separate bypass
oil
filter as well as the std. one. There were abt 300 kits sold. All the
orig.

close
out new engine compartment in rear. It was a real bear off line. I
could
take off easy in 4th. That year Vet engine was rated at 375HP in a

colors of white with blue stripes. I put about 10k miles on it. I sold
in
Md. abt 1975? It droped a half a keeper once that I was lucky enough
to
fine in the valve train area before the other half went & destroyed
the
engine. It was only used as a street fun machine. I once blew the
transmission out. I redesigned the shaft to use the Sagnaw Chevy Impala
sized larger bearings on the drive shaft. New shaft was machined in
Springfield to my specs.
