Walter S. Miller Sr. about 1920 because there was a warrant for his
arrested after beating up several men in a bar room fight. He thought he had
killed one of them and fled southeast Kansas for Russell County, KS.
There he married Ethel and then moved to CA.
Fern made extra money boxing at fairs and the circus when they were in town. He would take my father to these matches. This upset my grandmother greatly so the two of them would sneak over to these fights on the pretense of "going fishing".
