The main hall at the north end of the mausoleum is the perfect place for the family to hold the internment service.

Chairs are assembled in the main hallway and the casket is placed in front at the intersection of the east and west halls.

The funeral procession arrives and the casket and family members enter through the north door, and take up their position in the north hall.

Prior to the entombment the front marble panel has been removed and small ball bearings have been place on the floor of the crypt, this allows for the easy movement of the casket into the crypt.

After the service is completed and the casket has been place within the crypt, workmen return and install three cement plugs in the opening of the crypt. The plugs are then cemented in place.

In the workshop that is located within the mausoleum the master craftsman will letter the marble shutter that will cover the cement plugs. The lettering is uniform throughout the mausoleum and makes an elegant appearance.

This photo shows the lettering for one of the original board members of Old Mission Mausoleum.
