Your Henry Vanover married Martha Bandy on 7 June 1794, in Botetourt County,
Virginia. The marriage records stats that Henry's father was Cornelius Vanover.
Martha was a daughter of Thomas and Polly (Christian) Bandy. More information
on this family is in the Vanover Book.

According to my info, which is based on the Vanover book, Cornelius IV mar. Abigail
Mattox (2nd W). His first wife is unknown, but it was with his first wife he
had a son Cornelius V, who mar. Abby Easterd.
Abigail was born 1760-1770 and was full blooded Cherokee Indian, Eastern Band.
The name Easterd was the anglicized rendition of the Cherokee family named E
SUT TE. She apparently died between 1840-1850 when she disappears from the North
Carolina census.
I am also looking for information on Cornelius's and Abigail's daughter Catherine
who married Richard Perry on 7-10-1806.
Parents:
Cornelius VANOVER IV and

Belgium, was formed out of Holland, around 1841-3. Taking Flanders with it (
the northwestern most area of Belgium). The northern Belgians, are still Flemmish
and speak Dutch. The southerners are Walloon, and speak french

As far as I know the information you seek has not be determined. If anyone knows
this information it would be Gregory Lynn Vanover. He has done the most complete
research on this subject of anyone. He has posted on this forum below and you
can get his contact information from these posts. For your information, the the
Cornelius that you are speaking of actually spelled his name Cornelys and went
by the last name Van Hovgem. At least that is what my information indicates.

I just received a phone call from Ralph Vanover, a cousin of mine in Clintwood,
Virginia. Yes, I am among the living and still have a few copies of the Vanover
book available for sale. I found two boxes stored away in a closet while I was
doing some spring cleaning a few weeks ago. I am updating the book and have received
lots of data from various family members over the past eight years. I have also
continued my research into the early records of this family and will include
this in the revised edition. If you have questions about the book, email me or
write to me at 185 Wankoma Dr., Remington, VA 22734 or call me at 540-439-9185.
I have finished my graduate program at George Mason and am no longer working
apart time job in addition to my regular job. I now have more time to devote
to the study of our wonderful family history. I sincerely hope this message is
of help and I especially thank Ralph for the phone call.

The Vanovers are descendents of Cornelys van hovgem (as he wrote his name). The
early history of the family is well documented in the Vanover book.
They were Dutch. Cornelys's wife was Maria Winterslick. Cornelys died by 21 June
1691, and is last mentioned as living on 20 March 1690 in the Flatbush, Kings
County, New York records. More information on the family can be found in the
Vanover Book.
