Rebecca AVANT was born in 1764. She died. alive in 1853 I know Rebecca said in the pension application that she and Henry were married in 1771. It was probably closer to 1781 as she would have been 7 years old in 1771. I have wondered if that was why her application was rejected.

I think that Rebecca's pension application
was denied because Henry served in the NC
state militia. He would not have qualified
for a federal pension.

I don't know exactly when Rebecca Avant was born but if she was 63 in 1827 when she received the bible, she was born about 1864. The bible has the marriage of William and Jency Ann Butler, the names of their children plus "Henry Senter born 1760". So if they were married in 1771 he would have been 11 and she would have been 7. It just seems more likely that the marriage would have taken place later, more like 1781. Their first child Stephen was born probably about 1782/3 as he was married in 1803.
