Mohatta Palace, Karachi Not far from the Boddington family home, this beautiful building, built in 1929 by a wealthy Rajput businessman for a summer residence, was a familiar sight on the way to Clifton beach. The Hindu owner abandoned the building after partition and it fell into the hands of the Pakistan Government. It was subsequently acquired by the local Government of Sindh and today houses a museum. The building is said to be haunted by ghosts of the "British Raj"! [The Boddington-Ingram Family History - Our Faces and Places]. Dorothy May Ingram was baptised in this church in August 1910 when her father's battalion was stationed here. Some thirty years later she returned to Quetta accompanying her husband WO1 (Conductor) Thomas Boddington RIASC on posting from Nowshera. Her third son Patrick Keith was baptised in this same chapel in March 1939. Evidently the building, although much in need of repair, is still in use as a place of Christian worship.
