He married Martha Frances Smart in Montgomery County, N.C., 10/9/1858. Martha was born in
Montgomery County, N.C. 8/6/1838. She was the daughter of Nathaniel Wilson Smart and Darutha Annie Harper.
Martha died 5/27/1904 in Davie County, N.C., at 65 years of age.(5)
George served in the military in Montgomery County, N.C., 7/16/1862.(6)
