of JOHN
RICHARD FOORD Plumber, Painter and Glazier, Maidstone,
Kent. (1823-1916)
THIS
IS THE LAST WILL dated the twenty fourth day of May
One thousand nine hundred and nine of me JOHN
RICHARD FOORD of Maidstone in the county of Kent
Plumber of which will I appoint my son-in-law Paul
Frederick Lancaster and my friend Henry Osmer Clarke
who and the survivor of whom are hereinafter referred
to as my trustees to be the EXECUTORS and TRUSTEES I
give my freehold messuage or tenement and premises situate
and being number 69 Kings Street Maidstone aforsaid
and all my household furniture and articles of household
domestic and personal use or ornament belonging to me
at my decease and also all my shares in the Maidstone
Water Works Company and the Maidstone Club and moneys
payable on my death by the Odd Fellows Society to my
daughters Annie
Elizabeth Foord and Edith
Foord in equal shares as tenants in common I give
all the residue of my estate both real and personal
unto my trustees Upon trust in their absolute discretion
to sell call in and convert the same into money and
after payment thereout of my debts funeral and testimentary
expenses Upon Trust to pay and divide the same among
my daughters Grace
Lancaster and the said Annie
Elizabeth Foord and Edith
Foord in equal shares as tenants in common I authorise
my trustees in their uncontrolled discretion instead
of acting personally to employ and pay any other persons
or persons to transact any business or to do any act
of any nature in relation to the trusts hereof including
the receipt and payment of money without being liable
for any loss incurred thereby Lastly I revoke all further
Wills AS WITNESS whereof I have hereunto set my hand
to this my Will the day and year above first written

son and one of the next of kin.

THIS
IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of me WILLIAM
FOORD of Maidstone in the county of Kent Painter
I appoint my son William
and my daughters Tryphena
and Emma
to be EXECUTORS and trustees of this my Will I devise
and bequeath all my real estate of every tenure and
all my business book debts and other personal estate
and effects whatsoever and wheresoever subject to and
after payment out of my personal estate (or in the case
of definciency thereof out of my real estate) of my
funeral and testamentary expenses and debts unto and
to the use of my said trustees their heirs executors
and administrators respectively according to the nature
thereof Upon trust that my said trustees shall sell
call in collect and convert into money the said real
and personal estate and premise at such time or times
and in such a manner as they in their absolute discretion
shall think fit without being responsible for loss and
to stand possessed of the proceeds derived therefrom
Upontrust for all or any my children or child if more
than one in equal shares absolutely but prior to such
sale and conversion as aforsaid I declare that my said
son William
shall have tho option of purchasing all my said real
and personal estate at a valuation to be made by a Valuer
appointed by my said trustees such option to be declared
in writing within three calender months after my death
and I direct my said trustees on receiving payment of
the purchase money for the same and to assure the said
real and personal estate to my said son or as he shall
direct I revoke all former wills and codicils IN WITNESS
whereof I have hereunder set my hand this twenty fifth
day of May one thousand nine hundred – Wm
