General Notes:
Emigrated from the UK on the Flying Cloud in 1869 with his 4 children ages between 18 and 13 and his second wife Susannah. He is said to have been involved in a school at Morayfield, near Caboolture, Qld, where his daughters helped him teach.
Also said to have spent time around in Gympie where he prospected for gold.
A letter from S W Comport to Adelaide in 18..(illegible) describes George Pryor as being in Mordialloc, Melbourne, Aus., and having ill health. He is also living in melborne at the time of his daughter Adelaide's marriage in 1885. A later letter from George himself, residing in Brisbane talks about their "mother" being ill. He must be referring to Susannah.
I have a vague ememory of my grandmother telling me that George had been in Australia already, before he emigrated with his family in 1869. There is a George Comport of the correct age arriving in Melbourne, on the , in .... Also George is nowhere to be found in the UK on the 1861 UK census. Ann and the children are in Maidstone close to her family.
