The family lived on the 'Cartee' farm at Ellerton, Md. just across Catoctin Creek from his parents' German Plains farm. Peter also worked in the nearby Shady Grove gristmill-sawmill, built about 1773 by his father-in-law Daniel Schweigirt Sr. After Mr. Schweigirt's death Peter owned the mills. Peter and his wife are buried, with her parents and other relatives, in the Schwigart-Ambrose-Leatherman burial plot near the sites of the old mill." "Peter and Mary Anna had 5 children"

7. Michael Leatherman Elder (Daniel Sr. Leatherman , Johannes ) was born on 9 Jan 1761 in Wolfsville, Frederick, MD. He died on 23 Sep 1811.

"Elder Daniel Leatherman Family Brief sketches of children" - "13 children. In 1792, Michael purchased 195 acres of the "Bucks Haunt" estate from his brother Daniel. "Bucks Haunt" was then virgin, unclaimed land, lying along Pigeon Creek,
in Bethlehem Township of Washington County, Pennsylvania. This is about 10 miles east of Washington, Penna. The two couples resided in a long, double log house, and both are buried in the family burial plot on the farm. In 1870-71 Michael's grandson Dumas M. Leatherman built a handsome cut stone mansion on back of the log cottage. "All Leatherman Kin History, Pg. 28. Michael's daughter Catherine married one John Diehl Baker. Ohio descendants say he was a grandson of one John H. Baker, and great-grandson of the German immigrant Ludwig Becker-Baker. Michael's eldest daughter 'Betsy' Leatherman married Jacob Custer, a son of George Custer and his first wife Susannah (Long) Custer. George Custer's second wife was Betsy's aunt Catherine Leatherman - see #5. Michael Leatherman, like his father, was a Dunkard preacher. his wife 'Caty' was a country doctor, riding horseback to care for her patients."

Michael married Catherine "Caty" (Leatherman) Palmer. Catherine was born in 1765. She died on 28 Apr 1844 and was buried in , Washington, PA.

10. Joseph "Joe" Leatherman (Daniel Sr. Leatherman , Johannes ) was born on 10 Dec 1766 in Wolfsville, Frederick, MD. He died on 7 Dec 1837 and was buried in Thurmont, , MD.

"Elder Daniel Leatherman Family Brief sketches of children" - "Joseph inherited the German Plains household at Ellerton, Md. His father died in Nov. 1797, and on Apr. 4, 1799 Joseph sold the farm to Ludwig and Esther Routzahn, and moved to his 'Arnold's Delight' farm near Thurmont, Md. Joseph and Elizabeth Margaret cared for her two nephews Jonathan and Frederick Richer, after their father died and mother remarried. Joseph's daughter died as a child, and was buried on the German Plains farm at Ellerton. His wife died in 1818 and was buried in the Appler Lutheran Reformed Cemetery, near their Thurmont home. Joseph married second wife, about 1820, Deborah ______ b. Dec. 25, 1766- d Dec. 29, 1833. She is buried in the Pine Bark Cemetery, north of Thurmont, Md., and near Gettysburg, Penna. Joseph is buried with his first wife in the Appler Churchyard at Thurmont, Md. Joseph bequeathed his estate to the two nephews but second wife Deborah's codicil to the will awarded everything to Jonathan 'because of his dutiful consideration of me.'"

12. (Anna) Maria "Molly" (Moser) Leatherman (Daniel Sr. Leatherman , Johannes ) was born on 3 Feb 1772 in Ellerton, Frederick, MD. She died on 6 Oct 1841 and was buried in Harmony, Fred. Co., MD, Ch. of The Breth.

"Elder Daniel Leatherman Family Brief sketches of children" - "Anna Maria was designated as Mary in her father's will. Today she is remembered as Maria or "Molly" Moser. Anna Maria had no children, but she raised her step-daughter, Nancy Ann Moser."

"She had a house in Fisher Hollow, between Highland and Harmony, that could be opened wide for Dunkard meetings. The Grossnickle Church built beside Anna Maria's house was opened about Jan 1, 1840. Her aged brother, Elder Peter Leatherman Sr. led her into the sanctuary on his arm. This church was later dismantled and rebuilt in the village of "Beallsville" (Harmony today), and is now the Harmony Church of the Brethren.." A step-grandson, Ezra Baker, remembered the building of the "Ann Maria" Church at his home. Men cut timber for the logs used in the construction, and dragged them to the building site with horses. Sometimes the men let young Ezra hitch a ride on a log as the horse pulled it down to the building site."

Mrs. Moser was buried at her home, and later her tombstone was moved to the Harmony Church of the Brethren Cemetery.

(Anna) married (1) Isaac Shriver on 22 Apr 1802. Isaac died about 1827.
