     Nancy was born at Hepburn, Page County, Iowa, on 5 June 1873.¹ She was the daughter of George Eldredge Loghry and Nancy Jane Roumans. She married Joseph Daniel Rhamy at Clarinda, Page County, Iowa, on 13 September 1894. Nancy died on 1 July 1958 at Adams County, Iowa, at age 85.

     Joseph was born at Atwood, Kansas, on 20 April 1876. He married Nancy Jane Loghry at Clarinda, Page County, Iowa, on 13 September 1894. Joseph died on 15 June 1942 at Creston Union, Iowa, at age 66.

     Joseph died at Clarinda, Page County, Iowa. He married Sarah Goodwin at Iowa. Joseph was born at Hepburn, Page County, Iowa, on 4 March 1875.¹ He was the son of George Eldredge Loghry and Nancy Jane Roumans.

     She married Joseph Lecious Loghry at Iowa. Sarah was born at Iowa circa 1892. The 1920 Census listed Sarah Goodwin in addition to Leroy E. Loghry in the household of Joseph Lecious Loghry, in Valley Township, Page County, Iowa.¹ Sarah Goodwin was enumerated as Sarah L.. Married white female, age 28. Born in Nebraska. Father born in Iowa. Mother born in Iowa.² She died on 3 May 1938 at Villisca, Montgomery County, Iowa; Mrs. Joe Loghry, 47, was fatally injured at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday (May 3, 1938) when her left leg was torn off at the knee as shewas struck by the rear fender of the DeSoto sedan driven by Thomas S. Dennis of KansasCity, Mo., when he lost control of the machine at the Loghry service station on highway no. 71 three miles north of Villisca.

Mrs. Loghry, who lived with her family in their residence just north of thhe station, had been over to the station for a loaf of bread and was on her way home when the accident occurred. Dennis' car went off the pavement a short distance south of the station and as he reached the station it swerved off again, the fender striking Mrs. Loghry who was standing about six feet from the concrete.

She was hurled twenty feet against an end guardrail post and bounced back from the impact. Her leg was thrown sixty feet farther down an enbankment, andher shoe and overshoe were both torn from the foot. They were found several feet beyond where her severed leg was picked up.

When her son LeRoy, who operates the station, and his wife, bothof whom witnessed the accident, reached Mrs. Loghry she was conscious and gave directions for bandaging her leg which she was holding with her hands to check the flow of blood.

Mrs. Loghry, who was Miss Sarah Goodwin before her marriage to Mr. Loghry was marred to Mr. Loghry 32 years ago. They have two sons, LeRoy, 27, who operates the service station where his mother was fatally injured, and Leland, 5, and one daughter, Mrs. Ray Mathews, 22. Three years ago they moved from their farm southwest of Villisca to the land Mr. Loghry had purchased northofVillisca and where he built his present home and the service station.

Besides her husband and children, Mrs. Loghry leaves also two brothers and six sisters. They are James Goodwin, Villisca; Jesse Goodwin, Omaha, Elsie McNeal, Anna Roberts, Geneva McCleveland and EstherTedgren, Omaha, Emmna Hunter, Carbon; and May Hoffman, Clarinda.³

     Leroy was born at Clarinda, Page County, Iowa, on 29 December 1910. He was the son of Joseph Lecious Loghry and Sarah Goodwin. The 1920 Census listed Leroy E. Loghry in addition to Sarah Goodwin in the household of Joseph Lecious Loghry, in Valley Township, Page County, Iowa.¹ Leroy E. Loghry was enumerated as Leory L.. Nine-year-old white male. Born in Iowa. Father born in Iowa.Mother born in Nebraska.¹ He witnessed Sarah Goodwin's death at Villisca, Montgomery County, Iowa, on 3 May 1938.² Leroy died on 24 February 1992 at age 81.³

     James was born at Hepburn, Page County, Iowa, on 5 February 1877.¹ He was the son of George Eldredge Loghry and Nancy Jane Roumans. He married Ada Chubick at Griswold, Cass County, Iowa, on 11 December 1901.¹ James died on 1 May 1958 at Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska, at age 81. James had been dead for several days when his body was found. Nobody missed him, and nobody attended his funeral. Although his death certificate lists Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, he is actually at West Lawn..

     Nellie was born at Hepburn, Page County, Iowa, on 24 April 1903.¹ Nellie was born at Valley Township, Page County, Iowa, on 26 April 1903. She was the daughter of James Edward Loghry and Ada Chubick. Nellie died on 29 July 1968 at Salmon, Lemmi County, Idaho, at age 65.¹ Her body was interred on 31 July 1968 at Challis, Custer County, Idaho.

     Mary was born at Clarinda, Page County, Iowa, on 24 December 1879. She was the daughter of George Eldredge Loghry and Nancy Jane Roumans. Mary died on 13 May 1886 at Clarinda, Page County, Iowa, at age 6. Conflicting evidence states that she died at Shenandoah, Grant Township, Page County, Iowa, in 1887.¹

     Her body was interred at Page County, Iowa, at Rose Hill Cemetery.¹ Priscilla was born at Clarinda, Page County, Iowa, on 17 February 1882. She was the daughter of George Eldredge Loghry and Nancy Jane Roumans. Priscilla died on 6 November 1884 at Clarinda, Page County, Iowa, at age 2.

     Lettie was born at Hepburn, Page County, Iowa, on 4 August 1886.¹ She was the daughter of George Eldredge Loghry and Nancy Jane Roumans. The 1900 Census listed Lettie Florilla Loghry in addition to Nancy Jane Roumans and Ralph Earl Loghry in the household of George Eldredge Loghry, in Valley Township, Page County, Iowa.² Lettie Florilla Loghry was enumerated as Lettie F.. White female, age 12. Born in Iowa. Father born in Indiana. Mother born in Missouri.³ Lettie died on 3 February 1960 at Guss, Iowa, at age 73.¹

     Her body was interred at Shenandoah, Grant Township, Iowa, at Rose Hill Cemetery.¹ May was born at Hepburn, Page County, Iowa, on 30 June 1891.² She was the daughter of George Eldredge Loghry and Nancy Jane Roumans. May died circa 1894 at Clarinda, Page County, Iowa.

     Most of this information was handed down to Joseph Jacob Loghry, the great grandson of George W. Loghry and Esther Schock from family, mainly his Aunt Sarah Loghry Eutsler, daughter of Joseph Leander.

Aunt Sarah was born 10 years after her grandfather (George W. Loghry) died and she was born in Gravette, Arkansas. She had lived in Page County, Iowa long enough to be familiar with the area. She drew a map of the area on the back of a calendar, showing all of the places where the kinfolks lived. When Joseph Jacob Loghry later went to Page County, he found a school map in the library at Clarinda that still had many of the names on it in 1906. There are not many public documents about his life. According to his death certificate he was 74 years 5 months 21 days old when he died August 29, 1886. The census of 1850 shows him to be 36 years old. He could neither read nor write. He signed with an "X."

Jackson's history of Steuben County, New York mentions him by name only and then sans "no record." Joseph Leander Loghry named him in his will in 1830 to receive five dollars. One other account simply says he went west. Sparkle Albert Loghry, a grandson of George Edward said that his father George W. told him that he left New York with two of his brothers but they got separated (probably by their marriages) and he never saw them again. The 1840 census for Fountain County, Indiana shows the George Loghry family consisting of father, mother, one daughter, born in Ohio. He married again by 1850, still in Indiana. He must have been in Indiana for at least 14 years. In 1854 his son Joseph was born in Illinois.

Came to Page County in wagon train in 1868. Bought 44 acres in Page County on February 26, 1867, later adding on to this land three miles north of Hepburn. George was 17 when his mother died and 18 at the time of his father's death. Because he didn't have an education there were numerous spelling of the name, due to errors of others. George was born at Steuben County, New York, on 8 March 1812.³ He was the son of Joseph Leander Loghry and Mary Santee. He married Nancy Jane Axtel at Lorain County, Ohio, on 12 November 1833.^4,5 He married Esther Shock Peterson at Indiana after 1848. George died on 29 August 1886 at Hepburn, Page County, Iowa, at age 74.⁶

      Nancy Jane Axtel was also known as Jane Axtel. Nancy was born at Peru, Berkshire County, Massachusetts, on 10 May 1813. Peru is in the mountains northwest of Springfield, Massachusetts.^1,2,3 She was the daughter of Daniel Axtell and Jane Wellman. She married George William Loghry at Lorain County, Ohio, on 12 November 1833.^4,5 As of 12 November 1833, her married name was Loghry.⁴ Nancy died before 1850 at Beaver Township, Jasper County, Indiana.

     Augusta died Unknown. Augusta was born at Ohio in 1836.¹ She was the daughter of George William Loghry and Nancy Jane Axtel.

     Margaret died. Margaret was born at Indiana circa 1841. She was the daughter of George William Loghry and Nancy Jane Axtel.

     They left Iowa and went to western Nebraska. Lettie Lorena Loghry was also known as Lettie Lorene Loghry. Lettie was born at Indiana on 9 April 1844.² She was the daughter of George William Loghry and Nancy Jane Axtel. She married John Riley Fields at Oskaloosa, Mahaska County, Iowa, on 29 October 1863. Lettie died on 12 June 1935 at Mcallen, Texas, at age 91.²

     John was born on 14 May 1845.¹ He married Lettie Lorena Loghry at Oskaloosa, Mahaska County, Iowa, on 29 October 1863. John died on 10 May 1926 at Pharr, Texas, at age 80.¹

     Priscilla died. Priscilla was born at Indiana on 20 January 1847. She was the daughter of George William Loghry and Nancy Jane Axtel.

     Her body was interred at Rose Hill, Page County, Iowa, at Kegley Cemetery.¹ Esther was born at Indiana in 1824.² She married an unknown person at Delphi, Carroll County, Indiana, on 3 April 1842. She married George William Loghry at Indiana after 1848. Esther died on 19 October 1896 at Hepburn, Page County, Iowa.²

     According to Page County birth records, there was a female child born 8-10-1880, fourth child, Lothery, father dead, mother Elizabeth Allembaugh, born in Iowa and was 28. Father's full name was William Lothery, farmer. I believe this William could be Christian William. Need more info on this. Christian was born at Jasper County, Indiana, on 23 March 1851.¹ He was the son of George William Loghry and Esther Shock Peterson. He married Elizabeth Allumbaugh at Clarinda, Page County, Iowa, on 31 July 1870.² Christian died on 25 March 1880 at Clarinda, Page County, Iowa, at age 29.

     Elizabeth was born at Indiana in 1852. She married Christian William Loghry at Clarinda, Page County, Iowa, on 31 July 1870.¹ Elizabeth died in 1922 at Probably Page County, Iowa.²

     Lillian was born at Hawleville, Page County, Iowa, on 17 January 1873. She was the daughter of Christian William Loghry and Elizabeth Allumbaugh. Lillian died on 17 May 1892 at age 19.

     Ester died. Ester was born at Hebron, Adair County, Iowa, on 21 November 1876. Possibly Hawleyville, Page County, Iowa.. She was the daughter of Christian William Loghry and Elizabeth Allumbaugh.

     (?) died. (?) was born at Nebraska Township, Page County, Iowa, on 10 August 1880.^1,2 She was the daughter of Christian William Loghry and Elizabeth Allumbaugh.

     Jacob was born at Jasper County, Indiana, on 28 October 1853.^1,2 He was the son of George William Loghry and Esther Shock Peterson. He married Sarah Ellen Grimm at Clarinda, Page County, Iowa, on 4 November 1877.³

Jacob Schock Loghry is head of household in the 1930 Census of Wallace, Benton County, Arkansas as Jacob S. Loghry. Married white male, age 76, first married at age 24. Born in Ohio, father born in New York, mother born in Pennsylvania. Hei s working as a farmer. He is not able to read or write. Enumerated with Jacob Schock Loghry was Sarah Ellen Grimm, Ira Jacob Loghry and Beulah Rebecca Setser.⁴ Jacob died on 28 October 1936 at Gravette, Benton County, Arkansas, at age 83.^5,2

     Joseph was born at Illinois or Indiana in November 1855.¹ He was the son of George William Loghry and Esther Shock Peterson. Conflicting evidence states that Joseph was born at Illinois or Indiana in 1856.² He married Isabell Melinda Ferrell at Page County, Iowa, on 16 May 1875.³ Joseph died in January 1905 at Austin, Cass County, Missouri, at age 49.¹

     Isabell was born at Grant, County, Wisconsin, on 20 December 1854.¹ She married Joseph Leander Loghry at Page County, Iowa, on 16 May 1875.² Isabell died on 20 February 1921 at Ochelata, Washington County, Oklahoma, at age 66.
