Johnson (27 Jun 1760 Augusta County, Virginia - 1833 Circleville, Pendleton County, Virginia

Johnson married Sarah (NEGLEY) (14 Jan 1764 - 1840 Circleville, Pendleton County, Virginia) in 1779 Circleville, Pendleton County, Virginia.

1 - Elijah - (1779 - 11 Jan 1872 Sagamon County, Illinois)

    Elijah married Elizabeth THOMPSON in 1810 Pendleton County, Virginia.

2 - Solomon - (27 Jan 1780 Pendleton County, Virginia - 24 Nov 1860 Circleville, Pendleton County, Virginia.

    Solomon married Elizabeth VANDEVENDER 12 Jan 1808.  According to the 1980 Grave Register of Pendleton County, WV, Solomon died of gravel.

3 - Elizabeth - (Circleville, Rockingham County, Virginia - Circleville, Pendleton County, Virginia)

    Elizabeth married Joe TETER 8 Feb 1800 in Pendleton County, Virginia.  She is buried at the Price Arbogast Cemetery near Circleville, Pendleton County, West Virginia.

4 - Christina H. - (10 May 1787 - 15 Nov 1852 Vanburen, Van Buren County, Iowa.)

    Christina married Reuben TETER in Pendleton County, Virginia.

5 - Ambrose - (2 Mar 1790 Pendleton County, Virginia - 5 Apr 1885 Circleville, Pendleton County, Virginia) This is the line I follow

6 - Uriah - (2 Mar 1791 Pendleton County, Virginia - Aug 1843 Green County, Ohio)

    Uriah married Barbara JUDY 7 Mar 1816 in Pendleton County, Virginia.  

They had 10 children: Henry, George, Elizabeth, Amos, John. Amanda, Caroline, Solomon, Jesse and Uriah "Riley". 

They first went to Green County, Ohio about 1833.  After Uriah died the family went to Tipton County, Indiania and then to Kosciusco County, Indiania in 1853.

7 - Robert, I - (26 Dec 1795 Pendleton County, Virginia - 5 May 1874 Pendleton County, Virginia)

    Robert married Susannah WIMER 26 Feb 1818.  They were married by Otto Wade.  They are buried at the Ben Phares Cemetery.

8 - Sarah - ( - 1817)

    Sarah married Moses TETER 14 Dec 1813

9 - Rebecca - (abt 1798 - )

    Rebecca married Nathaniel STROTHER 23 Aug 1819.

10 - Mary - (15 May 1799 Pendleton County, Virginia - 21 Apr 1863 Tipton County, Indiania)

    Mary married Robert P. MINNIS 22 Jan 1823 in Pendleton County, Virginia.

Notes for Johnson

Johnson was a Lieutenant in the 2nd Battalion, 46th Regiment under Isaac Hinkle and was a Captain of the Pendleton County Militia in 1793.  He also served as a Constable in Pendleton County in 1787.

He and Sarah are both buried at the Ben Phares Cemetery in Circleville, Pendleton County, West Virginia.  This is located at the mouth of Teter Gap.
