| The Deadwyler cemetery is located west of Elberton, GA, exactly six and three quarters miles from the town Square on highway 72 between Oglesby, GA and Doves Creek Baptist Church. If one begins directly in front of Doves Creek Church and travels west toward Athens for exactly one mile, then turn left off highway 72 in front of what was the old Ben Stovall home, (now the Whitlow home) and travel one quarter mile on this little dirt road, the cemetery will be on the left about twenty yards off the road. It is surrounded by a rock wall approximately 16” thick and about four feet high. It has an entrance about four feet wide on the west side. The wall is generally fallen and dislodged, although portions of it still stand. The numbers on the above layout denote the position of each grave as identified in 1976.
