Helpful Hints when searching for
headstones
Check “unknown” headstones – some
headstones can be illegible whether by age or broken.
Headstones do not always show surname.
They may only show Christian names or initials
Sometimes females although married may
have been buried with their parents, sister or brother.
Surnames are not always shown on
headstones, therefore a search under the maiden name,
or sisters married name may be of benefit
to you.
Do not assume that a male and female
inscription on a headstone is that of a married couple. I have come across
many instances where they are a brother
and sister etc
