Bertha states thatthis bridge "is about a mile from our house." She signed the card"Bertha S." Don't know if this is from Bertha Zimmerman, after she mayhave gotten married, or if it was from Bertha Simpson, who may have movedto Lone Tree.

This record shows that Albert's parents were also born inBohemia (Austria??). Albert was 23 years old when first married (we haveused this to estimate when he married Mary Cline).

Among the entriesof Baptism is that of a Charles Feret, baptized April 23, 1637 in theWalloon Church in the crypt of Canterbury Cathedral, England.
Charles Ferre came to America from Normandy, France in 1660 and settledin Agawam (Springfield).
He was chosen Selectman on his wedding day and he was granted 30 acres ofland at Shipmuch, MA. in 1665; 20 acres more on the north side of Agawamin February 1666 and 30 more acres in 1667. Charles held the office ofConstable in 1671, selected Tithingman at Town Meeting, March 8, 1697;1698 a fence viewer.Charles Ferre was a freeman in 1671 and swore Allegiance last day ofDecember 1678 or next day, as did his son, John, at Springfield, MA.When Charles died July 3, 1699 in Springfield, there were seven of histen children still living. Sarah was born 24 September 1644 and died 20October 1740.
