Wm. E. Rohr found a 46 year old TN. born widowed "Farm Laborer", TravasPursely (spelled this way on 1880 census CD), living in the 8th District,De Kalb co., TN. in the 1880 census there (see FHC film #1255252, page177A). This Travas had living with him a 20 yr old daughter (Betty A.)and two sons 12 yr old Owen and 10 yr old Thurnas (probably should readThomas), all who were born in TN., as was both of their parents. He wasliving in the same area as the mother and several brothers of his pastwife, Martha Pedigo. Therefore, we believe this was our Travis.

Pedigo in this census is ours because hisparents, John and Amy Pedigo, were in the household of the abovementioned Calvin F. Pedigo. However, Lewis is married to a 29 year oldTN. born Martha, at the time (both her parents were born in TN.). Theirhousehold included the following children, all born in KY.:

It was recorded on thiscensus that both of Ann's parents were born in VA. This is wrong.
