They were sealed on 5 Jul 1995 in the Seattle Washington temple.

He and his wife went to school together from beginning through 12th.grade and then got married some time after graduating (this is per infofrom Lois W. (Wach) Massie).

His father was born in Ireland and his mother born in Wisc. Thisinformation came from the 1900 census of Maple Grove Twp., Barron co.,WI. In this census, it shows William as being born in WI. and being theowner of their farm there. It also list his wife, Bertha, and their 3children. This census also indicates that Bertha had had another childthat had not survived to 1900. We have no record of any name or sex forthis child. Chances are, this child was probably born as the 2nd. child,if you look at the 7 year gap between their two oldest children listed onthis 1900 census.

He farmed in Wisc. for a time.

As per a marriage register, he was a cook (at the time) residing in MapleGrove and the marriage was contracted as an Ecclesiastical ceremony.

As per information received by Lois (Wach) Massie, his grand-daughter:William Harry owned a department store in Minneapolis, Hennepin co.,Minn. when Lois was still in grade school (between 1932 and 1940). Helived in St. Cloud, Stearns county and/or St. Clair, Blue Earth county,Minn . Believe he died in Rice Lake, Barron county, Wisc., where he hada summer cabin. He and Bertha lived in La Crosse, La Cross co., WI.before moving to Rice Lake.

DEATH: Per his Death Certificate he died in the Cumberland Hospital inCumberland, Barron co., Wisc., on Oct. 19, 1951 at 2:15 PM, after beingthere three days with pneumonia. He was widowed, 87 years old, not on SocialSecurity, and had not been in any U.S. Armed Forces, up to his death.

She was endowed on 10 Jun 1995 in the Seattle Washington temple. She married William Harry Bourke on 15 Jul 1888 in Washington, Sauk Co., Wisconsin. They were sealed on 5 Jul 1995 in the Seattle Washington temple.

She was a 14 or 15 year resident of Hillsdale, Wisc. She went to theBourke Schoolhouse near Hillsdale, Barron co., WI. per information onfamily pictures.

Per information from the 1900 census of Barron co., WI., both of herparents were born in Wisc., but this disagrees with info on the marriageregister for Bertha & Willam Harry Bourke. (Wm. E. Rohr has used theinfo from the marriage record as to the birth place of both parents, forboth William Harry's and Bertha's parents). Bertha had one child thatdied before the 1900 census of Barron county, WI.

Believe she, and/or her parents, may have belonged to the EcclesiasticalChurch as per information on the Register of Marriage for Bertha Pettit &William H. Bourke. Bertha & Wm. were married by a clergyman, a Mr. O.B.Vailbourn, from the above church.

June E. Rohr has a picture of her with her daughter, Clare.
