He married Providence Corbin on 14 Jan 1744/1745 in St Pauls Parish, Baltimore, Maryland.

Other marriages:
Green, Amy

This is likely not all the children in this family. There may be as manyas fifteen children total. This information is from several sources onPeregoy, Pedigo (other spellings also; see note book of Pedigo's and infoJoseph G. Rohr received from his other Pedigo cousins. Some havedifferent dates and places. Who is right?? For instance, Louise H.Semones says Henry was born in Maryland and Mrs. Stuck record says HenrySr. was from France). See my note book on Pedigo.

The below account was taken from notes of Joseph G. Rohr and added to bynotes Wm. E. Rohr gathered from Mr. O'Conner. These note are the mostaccurate, as of April 2000.

The first of the Pedigo (Perigord) families to come to America was Henry, his wife, and 2 sons, Robert (Robin) and Edward (Ned). The boys were 12and 8 respectively (about 1740).

They settled near Annapolis, Maryland. There is a well defined accountthat Robert & Edward ran away from home, and never returned. Theyexplained to their immediate descendents that they fled from oppressionof a tyrannical step-mother. The story goes that this step-mother was adevotee of a fashion, and of gaieties of menial service, and gave noopportunity of education. Under the stress of the situation, Robert, being sent to drive in a herd of cows one afternoon, failed to return.Later he went back and succeeded in getting a secret interview withEdward, and persuaded him to go with him. An interesting item in thestory is that the step-mother was especially proud of her faircomplexion. Among other cosmetic precautions, she set aside a jug ofmilk to bath her face every morning. The boys, before their finaldeparture, gathered green walnuts, squeezed the juice from them, andpoured it into the jug of milk.

The boys wandered as far as the York River Valley in Virginia, remainingthere until they were grown men. Then they worked their way through thewilderness to the south Piedmont region to the locality now covered byHenry & Patrick counties. They were among the pioneers in that region, and took up large areas of land under Royal Grants in the area of theSmith River on Mulberry Creek near Martinville, Henry Co., Virginia.Robert settled on the north side and Edward settled on the south side ofthe Smith's River. Robert finally made his home, during theRevolutionary War, on the water shed of Leatherwood Creeks. Any wellinformed surveyor in Henry county, to this day, can point out an old treeknow as Pedigo's corner. This colonial landmark is on Mullberry Creek, near the town of Martinville, VA.

All of the Pedigo's in the south are descendents from these 2 run awayboys.

The family name has been spelled many ways - - - - Peregoy, Perigoy,Pediford, Pedigoe, Perrigo, and Pedigo.

A source on the internet shows a second child named Mary, from Henry'ssecond marriage, which was to Providence. Statistics for this Mary are:b. 15 Oct. 1746 in Joppa, Hartford Co. , MD.
