Charles Eugene Loftin

OZARK Mr. Charles Eugene Loftin, age 64, of Jacksonville, Fla.,
and formerly of Ozark, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000 of injuries
received in an automobile accident.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday from the Southside
United Methodist Church in Jacksonville with Dr. Wayne Wiatt and
Rev. Dale Tedder officiating.

Visitation will be held Monday from 6 until 8 p.m. at
Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 4115 Hendricks Ave., Jacksonville.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday from the
Westview Memorial Cemetery in Ozark with Rev. Randall Yelverton
officiating.

Visitation will be at Holman Funeral Home Parlor from 10 a.m.
Thursday until time to depart to the cemetery for services.

Mr. Loftin received an undergraduate degree from the University
of Alabama, where he was a member of the cross country and track
team and Kappa Alpha. He graduated from the University of
Alabama Law School in 1961. He had practiced law in Jacksonville
since 1962, currently with Hemphill and Associates. A founder of
the St. John's Bass Anglers Club in the early 1970s, he was also
a member of the Alabama Alumni Association, an avid chess
player, bass fisherman, and duplicate bridge player. He spent
many years coaching little league baseball and basketball, both
in Ozark and Jacksonville. Another favorite pastime for Mr.
Loftin was hunting and working on his cattle farm in Ozark.

He was preceded in death by his father, Claude Eugene Loftin,
and brother, Henry Claude Loftin.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Connolly Loftin; his mother,
Martha Faulk Loftin; son, Charles Alexander Loftin; daughter,
Laura Loftin Glover and her husband, Kevin; and granddaughter,
Anna Laura Glover.

He was married to Barbara CONNOLLY (daughter of Phillip CONNOLLY and Lucille) on 9 Jun 1967. ⁽²³⁾ Charles Eugene LOFTIN and Barbara CONNOLLY had the following children:
