William married Elizabeth Walker Jones August 20, 1835.⁽⁶⁷⁾ Elizabeth was born December 24, 1817.⁽⁶⁸⁾ She died September 12, 1890.⁽⁶⁹⁾

William E. Newell was probably a proprietor at Newell & Roach Livery Stable in 1859/1860 in Clarksville, Montgomery Co., Tennessee.⁽⁷⁰⁾

William E. Newell and Elizabeth Walker Jones had the following children:

+ 34 i. Sally Ann⁴ Newell was born August 6, 1836.

+ 35 ii. Mary Ella Newell was born August 16, 1838.

36 iii. Amanda Madora Newell was born in Mississippi April 15, 1841.⁽⁷¹⁾ Amanda married Christian Krapp August 2, 1871 at the residence of the bride's mother.⁽⁷²⁾

37 iv. Matilda Elizabeth Newell was born April 2, 1843.⁽⁷³⁾ The birth date could be in error, as the Bible record source became illegible at this point. She died June 14, 1845.⁽⁷⁴⁾

38 v. Laura E. Newell was born March 24, 1845.⁽⁷⁵⁾ She died May 31, 1845.⁽⁷⁶⁾

39 vi. William Henry Stokes Newell was born August 27, 1846.⁽⁷⁷⁾

+ 40 vii. Sophia Jones Newell was born November 11, 1849.

+ 41 viii. Alice De Rosa Newell was born February 17, 1852.

42 ix. Lela or Lola Walker Newell was born December 11, 1853.⁽⁷⁸⁾ Lela married W. D. Mallory February 8, 1883 at the residence of the bride's mother.⁽⁷⁹⁾

43 x. John Wilkes Newell was born May 10, 1855.⁽⁸⁰⁾ He died June 14, 1890.⁽⁸¹⁾

44 xi. Sammie Eddy Newell was born November 24, 1857.⁽⁸²⁾ He died in 1858.⁽⁸³⁾

+ 45 xii. Thomas Moody Newell was born June 18, 1859.
