Caleb was brought up by William and Jane Rawlinson of Stratford, CT. William Rawlinson died in 1712 and left to his 'loving adopted son Caleb Daighton.'

On 10 Dec 1713 Caleb married Mary Foote , daughter of Daniel Foote (1652-) & Sarah [Foote] (-26 Mar 1704), at Stratford, CT.
