     Andrew Benoni Hammond witnessed Andrew had a son, also called Andrew (1848-1934) who was one of the earliest pioneer, entreneurs in Montana before moving to the west coast where he built the worlds largest redwood lumber company. Andrew had a son with tge same name (1848-1934) who was an early entrepreneur in Montona and subsequently moved to the Pacific Coast where he founded the world's largest redwood lumber company. He was born in 1805. He was the son of Simon Hammond and Joanna Andrew Joslin. Andrew Benoni Hammond died in 1854.

     Andrew Joslin Hammond was born on 8 February 1812 at Kingsclear, York, New Brunswick, Canada. He was the son of Lathrop Hammond and Bathsheba Slocum Joslin.

     Ann Gilbert Hammond was born in 1827. She was the daughter of Captain Judah Hammond and Caroline Priscilla Cunningham. Ann Gilbert Hammond died in 1880.

     Anna Rosse Hammond was born circa 1865 at NY. She was the daughter of John Archelaus Hammond and Amelia Prince Platt. Anna Rosse Hammond married Edwin Connors circa 1885.

     Archelaus Hammond was born on 15 September 1709 at Rochester, Plymouth Co., MA.¹ He was the son of Seth Hammond and Mary Mercy Randall.¹ Archelaus Hammond married Elizabeth Weeks on 10 December 1729 at Mattapoisett, Rochester, Plymouth Co., MA.¹ Archelaus Hammond died at Mattapoisett, Plymouth Co., MA.¹

     Archelaus Hammond was born in 1759.¹ He was the son of Amaziath Hammond and Lydia Guardner.¹ Archelaus Hammond died in 1830.¹ Archelaus was a sailor and was noted as a great whaleman.

     Captain Archelaus Hammond was born on 9 May 1736 at Fairhaven, Bristol Co., MA.¹ He was the son of Archelaus Hammond and Elizabeth Weeks.¹
Archelaus and a cousin, Jeduthan Hammond, became members of the Massachusetts levy of 5,000 men for His Majesty's Service in the Seven Years War (part of the French and Indian War). They served as Privates in Louisbourg, Nova Scotia until they were discharged in December 1760.

Archelaus Hammond was considered a "Pre-Loyalist" in that he and outhers arrived in New Brunswick prior to the American Revo0lution and benefited by increased local demand for lumber, crops and land.

On May 10, 1771 Archelaus deeded land to Simon Newcomg "his honored father-in-law". His last transfer of land in Cornwallis was in Nov. 1779. He lived near Starr's Point, NS but later moved to New Brunswick on the St. John River.
Archelaus emigrated to the Cornwallis area of Nova Scotia, and by 1764 he obtained a grant of land in the areas vacated by the Arcadians.³ Captain Archelaus Hammond married Jerusha Newcomb, daughter of Simon Newcomb and Jerusha Lothrop, on 22 June 1762 at Cornwallis, Kings, Nova Scotia, Canada; This was the first marriage recorded in the Cornwllis Town book.¹ In about 1772, Archelaus moved the family to Machias, Maine for an unknown reason. As the clouds of war darkened, some people moved, perhaps to be in the 13 Colonies.³ In 1780, Archelaus moved his family back to Canada. They settled in Gagetown, New Brunswick Although Archelaus reported that he did not take arms for either side, his lands were expropriated by Loyalists.

In 1787 he obtained a grant of 172 acres at Jemseg, Queens County, New Brunswick. Between 1792 and 1799 he and two of his sons, Simon and Lothrop were granted 875 Acres further up the Saint John River and they established Hammondville, New Brunswick.³ Captain Archelaus Hammond died before February 1806 at Kingsclear Parish, York, New Brunswick, Canada.¹ Notes for Archelaus Hammond II, Capt., FIW:
Archelaus Hammond entered His Majesties' Service in April 1759, at age 21. His enlistment was in appeal to Massachusetts to levy 5,000 men for the French and Indian War (Seven Years War). "Archelaus Hammond has a wife and 12 children, came to Gage Town about three years past from Cornwallis, has built a log house and barn, and cleared about 10 acres of land, and says he never took arms on either side". Archelaus moved to Machias, Maine [Mass.] around 1771. He stayed in Machias eight years from 1772-1780. Five children were born in Cornwallis, NS and four (possibly five) were born in Machias. Around 1780 Archelaus move his family to Gagetown, [NB] Nova Scotia. In 1783 his Gagetown lands were expropriated to the newly arrived loyalist. In 1784 and 1786 he petitioned for lands in Queens County, NB. In 1799 he was granted lands in Kingsclear, York county, NB which consisted of lot #77-350 acres, lot # 81-75 acres, and lot #82- 450 acres. He moved to Kingsclear in 1799 with his sons Simon and Lothrop and started what was to become the Town of Hammondville which today would be located where the Mazzarole Road intersects Tran Canada Route 2. The Provincial Archives of New Brunswick, Volume: B, page 506, Grant number 355, has Archelaus Hammond receiving 350 and 410 [760] acres in Kingsclear Parish on December 31, 1799.

     Archelaus Hammond III was born on 9 May 1769 at Cornwallis, Kings, Nova Scotia, Canada.^1,2 He was the son of Captain Archelaus Hammond and Jerusha Newcomb.¹ He and his brother Lothrop received 75 acres in Kingsclear Parish.³ Archelaus Hammond III married Elizabeth Close circa 1800.      Archelaus Sylvester Hammond was born on 14 October 1821 at Kingsclear, York, New Brunswick, Canada. He was the son of Lathrop Hammond and Bathsheba Slocum Joslin.

     Barnabas Hammond was born on 30 January 1694.¹ He was the son of Samuel Hammond and Mary (Mercy) Hathaway.¹ Susanna Hammond was his cousin. They lived in Rochester, Mass.

     Benjamin Hammond was born circa 1621 at London, London Co., England.¹ He was the son of William Hammond and Elizabeth Penn. On Sept 18, 1634 , Benjamin Hammond, with his mother, Elizabeth Hammond, a widow, and sisters, Elizabeth, Martha, and Rachel came to America in company with the Rev. John Lothrop, on the Ship "Griffin" landing in Boston, Mass.² In 1643 Benjamin Hammond was listed as able to bear arms in Yarmouth ( Plymouth Colony Records, Vol 6, pg 194).³ Benjamin Hammond married Mary Vincent, daughter of John Vincent and Mrs John Vincent, on 8 November 1648 at Of Yarmouth, Barnstable Co., MA.¹ Benjamin Hammond probably moved his family to Mattapoisett in the township of Rochester, Mass in 1684. Benjamin Hammond died on 27 April 1703 at Mattapoisett, Plymouth Co., MA.^1,4

     Benjamin Hammond was the son of Jonathan Hammond.

     Benjamin Hammond was born at Easton, Washington Co., NY.¹ He was the son of Johathan Hammond and Sarah Jones. He was a Revolutionary soldier in the Albany County militia under command of Col. John McCrea. His brother, Jonathan, and second cousins, Paul and William Hammond, sons of William Hammond, the early settler of Pittstown, N.Y., were in the same company.
The whole of the territory included in the counties of Rensselaer, Saratoga and Washington, was a part of Albany County prior to the Revolution.²

     Bradford Gilbert Hammond was born in 1830. He was the son of Captain Judah Hammond and Caroline Priscilla Cunningham.

      Catherine Jerusha Elizabeth Melvina Hammond was also known as Melvina Hammond. She was born circa 1820 at NY. Date of birth estimated based on 1820 , 1840 census and 1850 census.

Catherine Jerusha Elizabeth Melvina Hammond married Sylvester L'Hommedieu Ward, son of Jasper Ward and Ann Egbert, on 20 July 1841.⁴ Catherine Jerusha Elizabeth Melvina Hammond witnessed the probate of the estate of Judah Hammond on 14 December 1849 at New York, New York, NY; He left $800/yr to his wife Elizabeth for her life, $250/yr to his sister Sarah Hammond for her life, $500 to his daughter Melvina Hammond, to his son-in-law Sylvester Ward and his son John A. Hammond. He left $250 to each of his grandsons Egbert and Sylvester Ward.⁵ Catherine Jerusha Elizabeth Melvina Hammond died on 3 July 1852 at New York, New York Co., NY.⁴

     Charity Hammond was born on 8 August 1790. She was the daughter of Sylvanus Hammond and Charity (Surname Unknown).

     Charles Hammond was born in 1738 at Rochester, Plymouth Co., MA.¹ He was the son of Archelaus Hammond and Elizabeth Weeks.¹ Charles Hammond married Elijphal (Surname Unknown) on 4 October 1764.¹ Charles Hammond married Anna Stewart, daughter of James Stewart, on 23 November 1768 at Rochester, Plymouth Co., MA.¹

     Charles Hammond was born on 20 January 1792 at Rochester, Plymouth Co., MA. He was the son of Ebenezer Hammond and Prudence Sherman. Charles Hammond married Lucinda Barlow on 20 June 1819.

     Charles A. Hammond was born in 1805. He was the son of Archelaus Hammond III and Elizabeth Close. Charles A. Hammond died in 1882.

     Charles Archalaus Hammond was born circa 1858 at NY. He was the son of John Archelaus Hammond and Amelia Prince Platt.

     Clarence Lathrop Hammond and Lillian Bolger appeared on the census. Clarence Lathrop Hammond was born on 18 August 1885 at Scarsdale, Westchester Co., NY. He was the son of Thomas Storm Hammond and Bertha M. Kittle. Clarence Lathrop Hammond appeared on the census of 19 June 1900 in the household of Thomas Storm Hammond at Town of Greenburgh, Westchester Co., NY.^1,2 He married Lillian Bolger circa 1907. Clarence Lathrop Hammond and Lillian Bolger appeared on the census of 26 April 1910 at Mount Vernon, Westchester Co., NY.³ Clarence Lathrop Hammond and Lillian Bolger appeared on the census of 22 April 1930 at 98 Stone Ave., Elsmford, Westchester Co., NY.⁴ Clarence Lathrop Hammond died on 6 June 1938 at age 52. Of a heart attack. He is buried in Section 40 of Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla, NY. The family lived in Mt. Vernon where the first three children were born. In 1917 when he registered for the WW 1 Draft, they lived at 36 Beach St., Mt. Vernon and he was working for the Westchester Lighting Company. They moved to Saw Mill Road, Elmsford, NY in 1919 and then to Stone Ave in 1929. They remained in the same house until the family dispersed. He was Office Manager of the Westchester Lighting Company in White Plains, NY.

The 1930 Census had Mildred, Larry and Alice living with their parents and Aunt Lizzy on Stone Ave., Elmsford.^5,2
