Archibald Stewart, born in Athol Scotland about 1778, emigrated to Pictou County about 1801. He was amoung the first settlerd in Barney's River. He was a blacksmith. He married Elizabeth Crocket about 1805. She was the daughter of John Crocket and Margaret young. They had emigrated to lot 59 PEI on the "Lovely Nellie" in 1774, but were eaten out of house and home by mice. By 1776 they were in Middle River Pictou County, NS.
