| Obituary* | 2 January 1918 | The Summerside Journal, Summerside, Prince County, Prince Edward Island, Canada, "Prince Edward Island's oldest resident Mr. Harry C. Green, passed away on Sunday evening at his home in Summerside. The late Mr. Green passed the century mark last April, and, although confined to bed since that time, he had enjoyed good health until Christmas, when he gradually began to sink in health. The deceased was a son of the late Samuel Green, who came to this country from England, and settled in North St. Eleanors, where the late Harry Green was born nearly a hundred and one years ago. The greens were Summerside's original settlers, this town at that time being known as Green's Sore. The late Harry Green farmed for some years at St. Eleanor's, and about half a century ago moved to Summerside conducting a store here. He was for a number of years customs officer at this port and was for over twenty years postmaster, being succeeded in the latter by the late Richard Hunt, father of the present postmaster. The deceased leaves to mourn two sons and six daughters, as follows: Fred Green, St. Paul's Minn; Herbert Green, manager of the Bank of N.S., Digby N.S.; Misses Sarah and Margaret at home; Mrs. Jas. Clark and Miss Elinor, in the United States, Mrs. H. C. Mills, Summerside, and Mrs. W. B. Mills, Summerside, Mrs. Major Jones, St. Eleanors. The funeral will be held on Wednesday from St. Mary's Church to the Church of England Cemetery at St. Eleanors. The deceased is the oldest Mason in the province, and King Hiram Lodge, A. F. & A. M. will have charge of the funeral services. A little later The Journal will have a breif history of the late Mr. Green, which should prove most interesting to our readers." , Witness=Herbert R.
