The aim of this site is to find out more about my family and to perhaps to contact long lost relatives if there are any out in the big wide world. I can trace my direct line back to apprcx 1765 my 4x great grand mother ESTER STOWE of CHADLINGTON believed to have been born1765. Questions I would like answers to are. Was ESTER STOWE a STOWE or did she marry into the STOWE family? ESTER STOWE had my 3x great grand father WILLIAM STOWE in 1786 approx, did she have any other children? My 2x great grand mother LEAH STOWE ( the third child of WILLIAM STOWE and his wife HANNAH KENCH ) seems to have had thing going with a certain DAVID COX as my great grand fathers name is shown as JACOB STOWE /COX. Were they married? if so why is my name STOWE not COX? LEAH STOWE had another son RICHARD STOWE but no mention of COX. She then married CHARLES AKERMAN the following year and had a further eight children. Are my line of STOWES connected to the STOWS of chadlington? JACOB STOWE my grand father had a sister ANN RACHEL STOWE who married INGRAM BELL HOLMAN on 28 june 1898, are there any HOLMANS out there? |
