Clell had been collecting Indian artifacts for many years after having inherited his father's small collection which had been gathered from the family farm. Over the years Clell had added to his collection from local areas, as well as from western states, Mexico and Canada.

He was married to Evelyn G. McCallister (daughter of George McCallister and Alice Turley) on 4 Mar 1938. Evelyn G. McCallister was born on 9 Sep 1919. (3512)(795) She died on 14 Jun 1989 in Adamsville, Muskingum County, Ohio. (795) She was buried in Fairview Church Cemetery, Adams Township, Muskingum County, Ohio.(3513) Clell Stewart Bradford and Evelyn G. McCallister had the following children:
