He died on 19 Aug 1925 in Jamestown, Cloud County, Kansas.^{(2364) (2367)} He was buried on 21 Aug 1925 in Jamestown Cemetery, Grant Township, Cloud County, Kansas.^{(2364) (2368)} He was a forman for the Missouri-Pacific RR. He was an operator of a hotel and rooming house.⁽²³⁶⁴⁾ He went West.

Amos and Mary came to Jamestown, Kansas in 1879. At that time, only four families were living in town. Amos was foreman on the Missouri Pacific Railroad for many years. They built the Commerce Hotel 1903.

He was married to Mary Eliza Rainard/Reynard on 16 Jul 1871 in Leavenworth, Leavenworth County, Kansas. Mary lived to be very old, about 90 years. She always smoked a pipe and would hide it in her apron if anyone would come in. She didn't want people to know it. They built and operated the hotel in Jamestown, Kansas. At one time they had a fancy dining room, and traveling men would get off the trains and stay there.

Mary was raised around a prison. Her father (Asa Reynard) was a warden at a prison and as a young girl, growing up, she remembers living in the prison.

Some of the dates don't agree. In Amos' obit, they were married in East Leavenworth.
