FIRST GENERATION

1. Hans Michael Sheely died in 1737 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.(1) He is listed as #13, Brother Hansz Shuhlin. He may have been in Germantown PA by 1734.

He was married to Elizabeth --- about 1724. Elizabeth --- died in Mar 1758. Hans Michael Sheely and Elizabeth --- had the following children:

David Sheely was charged with a felony by John Hardin. about 1751 in Frederick County, Virginia.(2) The court order reads: David Shealey being commited to the goal of this county by virtue of a precept under the hand of John Hardin Gent on suspicion of Felony and being brought before the court no warrent for an examming court having issued, the court agree they will take the matter in consideration on Wednesday next and that he be continued in custory of the shff to that time unless he give sufficient sucurity in the sum of Forty pounds for his appearance that day.
The next order reads: Christopher Beeler in open court acknowledged himself indebted to our sovereign lord the King his heirs and successors in the sum of Forty pounds to be levied off his goods Chattles Lands and Tennements in case John Sheeley [should read David Sheeley] do not appear before this court on Wednesday next to answer what shall be then and there objected to him or if he do depart thence without leave of the Court.
He was discharged from the felony charge about 1751 in Frederick County, Virginia. (3) The court order reads: David Sheely appearing on his recognisance It being the time appointed by the Court for a further examination of the witnesses for our Sovereign Lord the King and the sd David concerning the Felony wherewith he stands charged, five[?] witnesses being sworn and heard on consideration of the evidence and circumstances, It is the opinion of the Court that the sd David is not guilty and it appearing to the Court that Abraham Anderson by promoting the prosecution agt the sd David is guilty of a misdemeanor and also a person of ill fame, It is ordered that the sheriff take him into custody until he enter into recognisance himself in Five Hundred pounds Sterling with two securitys in two hundred and fifty pounds each for his good behavior for a year and a day. And it is ordered that the sd David be discharged.
