Frederick was a partner in the Boot Factory and eventually the company took his name. Frederick was later councillor and mayor in the Ithaca Town Council, and was involved in the building of playing fields and a bowling club at Ashgrove.
Frederick was a member of the Fernberg Lodge, referred to by the officers and brethren of the Lodge as 'Worshipful Brother'. In 1923-24, he was a Councillor of the Queensland Chamber of Manufacturers.
Frederick also had an orchard at Flaxton for some years which he operated with a partner 'on shares'. He also farmed at different times at Lota, South Pine, and Kenmore Park (now the suburb of Kenmore, Brisbane). These projects were also on a share basis (ie F.T. supplied the property, the partner supplied the labour).
His place on the family tree can be seen at the following link to my family tree.
