FRIDAY, MAY 26, 1893.

On Wednesday evening of last week, (May 17, 1893) occurred the marriage of Miss Dora McCrossen formerly of this place but now of Grand Rapids, and Mr. Wm. N. Perkins of the same place, at their home 896 Ridge Ave. (as previously announced in the Graphic). The large and commodious house was beautifully decorated with banks of flowers. And as the bridal pair moved forward to the impressive music of the bridal march, played by Miss Ella Mason. the scene was imposing. Miss McCrossen wore a dress of tan lansdale (entrain) with lace and white roses, while Mr. Perkins appeared a model groom in his handsome dress suit. Mr. B. R. McCrossen and Miss Winifred Perkins, acted as groomsman and bridesmaid. Miss Perkins wore a dress in contrast with the bride, and Mr. McCrossen appeared in a full dress suit.
The pastor of the U. B. church performed the impressive ceremony. The company of about 45 relatives and friends at 9 o’clock sat down to a bountiful repast served by Miss Susie Chamberlin, cousin of the bride.
The wedding presents were numerous and many of them very costly, as follows:
Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Russell, silver cake basket; Mrs. Pennel, french plate mirror silver mounted; Miss Winifred Perkins, sugar bowl in silver standard; Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Galer, solid silver butter knife and sugar shell; Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Galer, silver mounted sugar sifter; Mr. B. R. McCrossen, solid silver berry spoon; Kline Pursel, silver salt and pepper sifter; Charles Pennell, glove of choice perfume on silver standard; Mr. and Mrs. E. Perkins, set solid silver teaspoons; Miss Susie Chamberlin sugar shell, stool and pillow; Mrs. M. L. McCrossen, beautiful rocker; Miss Ella Mason, set linen doylies; Mr. and Mrs. George True, decorated china teapot; Mr. and Mrs. George Allen, pair of linen towels; Miss Alice Eddy, book, (Lady of the Lake); Mrs. J. Hebbelwhite, book, (voice of the sea); and numerous other articles.
The bride presented the groom with a handsome gold watch beautifully engraved. The happy couple postponed their wedding trip to visit Armada later on account of the sickness of the bride’s mother. Rice was not scarce, and the happy pair have the best wishes of their numerous relatives and friends. They will make Grand Rapids their abode where they have a lovely home. And may happiness ever prevail around their bright future.
