James M. Fryatt and Elizabeth L. Ridgely appeared on the census of June 1900 at Shelby Precinct, Edwards County, Illinois, The record lists:

Flora Fryatt, dau., b. Dec 1883, age 16, b. Ill, father b. WVa, mother b. Ill.

It is unclear whether the "married twice" label really applies because it is also shown for the single daughter. Nevertheless, it appears to show that Elizabeth was the mother of a living child, in contrast to the 1910 record. However, Flora appears to have been born prior to the 1898 marriage to Elizabeth Ridgely.4
