| Nahum Daniels moved from Mendon, Massachusetts to Herkimer County, New York in 1796. Anne Cooke Daniels, his first wife, died hours after giving birth to their first child, George Cook Daniels. Ann and her mother Temperence Cooke are buried side-by-side in a cemetery behind what today is the 1st Baptist Church on the 7000 block of Main Street in Newport, Herkimer County, New York. | ![]() |
