The Small Cemetery
Near Highfield, Johnston Parish, Queens Co, NBThis rather old and near neglected cemetery is on land originally granted to Thomas Small, and known as Lot No.4. (Could not find out who is the present owner.) It is quite difficult to find. There are two ways of going to it; ie.1: Turn off the Codys-Coles Island Road at the Codys Community Hall and go out a very poor road towards Salmon Creek, and turn off on the Highfield road.
2: (the easiests) Go to Long Creek on the trans-Canada highway, and turn right on the Highfield Road, go some miles and then turn onto the Codys road. Not far in that road is an old farm road on the left, and the graveyard is a short distance in there on the right. There is woods around it and you can't see it from the Codys road.
(See separate file for map.) Sketched and written by Fred L. Corcoran, assisted in finding it by Mr. George West and Mr. Kevin Perry, for the Queens County Historical Society. - 1975
