Miss Lula Mae Morton, 82, 1828 Pearl avenue, Joplin, died at
12:10 p.m. Sunday at a rest home there, where she had been a
patient since Aug. 16.
Miss Morton had been a resident of Joplin 20 years, but formerly
lived in the Diamond, Carthage and Webb City communities. She
made her home with a sister-in-law, Mrs. Pearl Morton.
Miss Morton was born June 23, 1881 in Carlisle, Ill., and was a daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. James Morton.
Besides the sister-in-law, other survivors include several nieces and nephews. the family will be at the home of a niece, Mrs. Velma Craig, 2401 North Lincoln, Joplin.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Hedge-Lewis funeral home, Webb City. The Rev. W. A. Evans, assistant pastor, Forest Park Baptist church will be in charge and burial will be in the Diamond cemetery.
