Retired Diamond Farmer Succumbs at Webb City -- Webb City, Mo., Feb 24

Joseph C. Morton, 72 years old, a resident of Webb City 12 years, died at 6:50 o'clock tonight at his home, 716 Campbell street.

Morton, a retired farmer, formerly lived at Diamond for many years. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Pearl Morton; two sisters, Miss Lula Morton of Webb City and Mrs. Hattie Hamilton of Beaumont, Tex., and two neices, Mrs. Velma Craig and Mrs. Lucillea Wills (sic) of Joplin.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Hedge-Lewis funeral home. The Rev. David E. Moore, pastor of the First Baptist church, will officiate. Burial will be in Diamond cemetery.
