23. Edward George Nicholas Paul Patrick⁴ Windsor (George Edward Alexander Edmund³ Wipper, George Frederick Ernest Albert² Hanover, Albert Edward¹ Wettin) was born London, Middlesex, England 9 October 1935.⁽²⁷⁰⁾

He married Katharine Lucy Mary Worsley York, 8 June 1961.⁽²⁷¹⁾ Katharine was born at Hovingham Hall, York on 22 February 1933.⁽²⁷²⁾ Katharine is the daughter of Sir William Arthington Worsley and Joyce Morgan Brunner. She was christened into the Church of England at St. Peter's Church, York, Spring 1933 by the Reverend John Jackson.⁽²⁷³⁾ The church is next to Hovingham Hall, and is a small parish church.

She was a student at Runton Hill School, Norfolk. She was taught to play the piano, violin and the organ. She plays those instruments today.

At 29 years of age Katharine became the mother of George Philip Nicholas Windsor Earl of St. Andrews Iver, Buckinghamshire, 26 June 1962.⁽²⁷⁴⁾ Katharine, as Edward, duke of Kent's wife, lives with him Wren House, Kensington Palace, Kensington, London, England. At 31 years of age Katharine became the mother of Helen Marina Lucy Windsor Iver, Buckinghamshire, 28 April 1964.⁽²⁷⁵⁾ Katharine became James Robert Bruce Ogilvy's godmother at his christening at the Chapel, Buckingham Palace, London, Middlesex, England, on 11 May 1964.⁽²⁷⁶⁾ At 37 years of age Katharine became the mother of Lord Nicholas Charles Edward Jonathan Windsor London, Middlesex, England, 25 July 1970.⁽²⁷⁷⁾ She is, with Edward, duke of Kent, the President of The All England Club, Wimbledon. They have the "duty" of watching some of the best tennis in the world every June and July from the Royal Box, and presenting the awards to the champions.

Katharine was anointed with chrism, and received into the Roman Catholic Church 1994.

He received a military promotion to the rank of Field Marshall, June 1993.⁽²⁸⁶⁾ He is the personal Aide de Camp to The Queen, Colonel of the Scots Guards, and Colonel-in-Chief of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, of the Devonshire and Dorset Regiment and of the Lorne Scots Regiment (in Canada). He is also the Deputy Colonel-in-Chief of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards.
