The will of William Bush was probated in Chowan Co. NC., October, 1716.
sons; William, "that plantation whereon he now lives".John, "plantation wheron I now live".
DAUGHTERS; Mary Early, Martha Williams, Rose Winns, Elinor McLendon (one
shilling each) Elizabeth Bush. Wife, Martha Bush was Ext. Witness William Crawford and John Smith.

Joseph's Will proven in December of 1809 in the CaswellCounty, North Carolina Court. Transcribed as following.
In the name of God Amen, I Joseph Bush of the County of Caswell, andState of North Carolina on the 27th day of April 1804, being in perfect health and mind and memory, thanks be given unto the Supreme Being for the same; calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that itis appointed for all men to die, recommending my spirit to God who gave it and my body I recommend to the earth, to be buried in a decent Christian like burial at the discretion of my Executor, nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again through Christ; and as touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life, I give, devise and dispose of the same in the following manner.
Imprimises, I lend to my beloved wife Maryann Bush one third part of my estate, and at her death or intermarriage to return with the increase of the same to my children to be divided in the manner as the residue of my estate is hereafter devised.
Item. I give to my son Zenus Bush, one hundred acres of land adjoiningthe lands of Robert Martin and James Carroll, also my shot gun.
Item. I give to my grandson Bennatt Haralson, the one-eighteenth partof the residue of my estate both real and personal in full for his mothers legacy of my estate.
Item. I lend to my daughter Betsy Fleming one ninth part of the residue of my estate during her natural life and at her death to be equally divided between the heirs of her body.
Item. I give to my son Zenus Bush one ninth part of the residue of mypersonal estate only.
Item. I give to my daughters Rhoda Bush, Iebba Rice, Merah Bush, Lowas Bush and Mary Bush, the balance of my estate both real and personal to be equally divided between them after my death.
My will and desire is that the property I have given to my daughters Nancy Haralson, Franky
Haralson, Betsy Flemming and Zebba Rice in mylife time be condemned as part of their legacy as above
mentioned.
Last I constitute and appoint my beloved son Zenus Bush and my trusty friends Barzilla Graves, Sr. and Solomon Graves, Sr. the whole and sole executors of this my last will and testament, revoking and annulling all other wills and testaments heretofore made by me, and declaring this and no ther to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I the said Joseph Bush hath to this set my hand and affixed my seal the day and year above written.

Listed among the items were: a pair of shoemakers pinchers, a Bible, old hymn book, and old sword, old Testament and some old books, pipe and tobacco box, Negro man John, Negro man Solomon.

In the name of God, Amen. I, Thomas Bush of the County of Halifax and state of Virginia, being in a low state of health, but in perfect sence and memory, thanks be to the Almighty God, am calling to remembrance the uncertain state of this Transitory life, and that all flesh must yield unto Death when it
shall please God to call, do make, constitute or ordain and declare this to be my last will and Testament in manner and form following:
First, I do leave one hundred acres of land to be laid of by Survey Joining Tyre O'Neale. William Carr, Elisha Albeth, and and George Burrows, to be sold by my executors to play a Debt due James Bruce.
Then, I do lend the ballance of land, which is seventy-two acres and all my other Estate, to my wife Mary Bush during her natural life or widowhood and after her decd. or Marriage I do give it as follows:
Next I do give and bequeath to Melkijah Bush the seventy-two acres of land above mentioned and me sorrel horse Colt bridle and saddle to he and his heirs froever.
Item - I give and bequeath to Rachil Bush one Mar Colt and my new ride saddle bridle to she and her heirs forever.
Item- I do leave all the rest of my Estate not yet mentioned to be equally Divided between William Bush, Francis Bush, Melkijah Bush, Betsey Bomar, Mary Cauthorn, Rachil Bush and Thomas B. Milner, to they and their heirs forever.
Lastly I do ordain and constitute and appoint William Bush and my Wife Mary Bush Holey and solely executors of this my last will and Testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fifteenth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and four-

At a Court held for Halifax County the 25th day of February, 1805 -This last will and Testament of Thomas Bush, decd. was exhibited in Court and proved by the oath of these witnesses thereto subscribed and ordered to be recorded - and on the motion of William Bush the Executor therein named who made oath thereto according to law, Certificate is granted him for obtaining
probate thereof, in due form he giving security whereof he together with Fleming Hodges & Armisted Bomar, his securities entered into and acknowledged their bond in the penalty of six thousand dollars conditioned according to law, liberty being served the Executrix therein named to join in the probate thereof when she shall think fit.
