Mary Anne Widel Date: Sep 8, 2000
According to Dorothy Brown Thompson's notes, this William Cave who d
1842, was married to Anne Travers as her first husband. (She later (1847)
m. Thomas Dent who d. 1851.) William and Anne had Elizabeth Cave who m.
1) Keene Withers(1728-1756) in 1747, 2) Andrew Edwards (1725-1788) in
1758 and 3) Thomas Walker. William and Anne also had a son, James
(1741-1743). These were the only two children. Would you mind posting
Elizabeth and Keene Withers' nine children? I know of only James Withers
(1752-1828) *** Anne Travers was a half-sister to Elizabeth Travers who
was John Cave's second wife. (The first was the daughter of George
Andrews - first name unknown.) Elizabeth and Anne Travers were the
daughters of Giles Travers 16XX-1717, of Stafford Co., VA. Elizabeth's
mother was his first wife, Anne Waugh, the daughter of the Rev. John
Waugh (1630-1706). The name of Anne's mother, the second wife of Giles
Travers is unknown. It is conjectured that William and John Cave may be
brothers, and that John is the father of Benjamin the Burgess.
