All sources are documented in the individual notes. There may be inaccuracies or inconsistencies for which I apologize. The only purpose for gathering and compiling this information is documentation of Cummins family history. No other purpose is intended or implied.

First Generation

1. William CUMMINGS was born in Co. Carlow, IRL. He may have died in Canada.

NOTES: There has been no positive identification of William to date, or where in Co. Carlow he may have been from. He and his wife Annie are known only through their daughter Julia's death certificate and through other information posted on various internet sites. Attempts have been made to contact the researchers identified, but there has either been no acknowledgement or no available additional information. However, since our goal is to identify the various Cummins families from Carlow and make connections whenever possible, it seemed prudent to post here the information that we do have. We intend to continue to research this family, and will add more information as it becomes available. Thanks to Judith in Ohio for assisting with the search in records there. She is a descendant of James & Jane (Sullivan) Woods, parents of Michael Cummings' wife Bridget.

2. Julia CUMMINGS (William) was born 27 Feb 1837 in Co. Carlow, IRL. She died on 19 Dec 1913 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga Co., OH. She was buried in Calvary Cemetery, Cleveland, OH.

NOTES: According to census reports, she apparently had three other children who died. In the 1870 census, her brother Michael was living with her family in Cleveland. In the 1900 census, she was living with her son Michael who was still single. In 1910, she was living with Michael, his wife and children.
