JOSEPH WILLIAMS CARROLL He was a member of Jasper Light Infantry of York County, South Carolina Militia as early as January 1861. He enrolled for duty with the 5th Regiment SCV (South Carolina Volunteers),at Yorkville on April 13,1861 and was mustered into the Confederate service on June 4,1861. After one year the 5th Regiment was disbanded and he joined the Palmetto Sharpeshooters.

ROBERT E EVANS He served as 2nd Lieutenant of infantry in Company C under William Coltin 1861 and 12 months in the Eighth Regiment. He then organized Company D and served as its Captain throughout the remainder of the war.
