Louis T. Requard Jr., a retired Western Electric Co. administrator, died of heart failure May 16 at St. Joseph Medical Center. The Perry Hall resident was 89.

Born in Baltimore and raised in Overlea, he was a 1934 graduate of Kenwood High School and earned a law degree from the University of Baltimore in 1942. He was president of his senior law class.

He began work at Western Electric's Point Breeze Works in 1944 and retired in 1976. Mr. Requard had worked in labor relations and operations research.

He was a coach many years ago for the Parkville Recreation Council and had enjoyed playing golf at Clifton Park.

A memorial service for Mr. Requard was held Sunday at Joppa Road Baptist Church, where he had been a member.

Survivors include his wife of 11 years, the former Madalene Taylor, a retired Baltimore public schools elementary teacher; a son, Louis Theodore Requard III of Ottawa; a daughter, Linda Hatcher of Shreveport, La.; a sister, Joan Asplen Puma of Columbus, N.C.; two stepsons, Richard Taylor and Robert Taylor, both of Baltimore; a stepdaughter, Carolyn Wheaton of Berlin on the Eastern Shore; and nine grandchildren. His wife of 51 years, the former Margaret Louise Evert, died in 1994.
