Esther² Heim (#902) was born in PA 3 Apr 1823.⁽³⁸⁸⁾ Esther died 30 Oct 1915 in Hegins, Schuylkill Co., PA, at 92 years of age.⁽³⁸⁹⁾ Her body was interred 4 Nov 1915 Barry Twp., Schuylkill Co., PA, Kimmels Cemetery. She married Thomas Hoch in Pottsville, Schuylkill Co., PA, 14 Oct 1843.⁽³⁹⁰⁾ Thomas and Esther were married in the German Lutheran Church. (Thomas Hoch is #901.)

Thomas was born 18 Feb 1824 Lykens Twp., Dauphin Co., PA.⁽³⁹¹⁾ Thomas was the son of Abraham Hoch and Barbara Kaercher. Thomas died 12 Jun 1864 Tevillion Station, VA, at 40 years of age.⁽³⁹²⁾ An affidavit filed by William Thompson, a resident of Pottsville, PA, who was Captain of Company H said that "while in the line of duty in the battle of Trevillian Station, Va. on the 12th day of June 1864, the said Thomas Hoch, deceased, was mortally wounded through the left breast by a rebel musket ball; that he was left in the hands of the enemy in a stone house (Hospital) at the said station along with many other badly wounded men; that to the best of his knowlege and belief the said Thomas Hoch died from the effects of said wound." She resided in Cass Twp., Schuylkill Co., PA 1850.⁽³⁹³⁾ She resided Barry Twp., Schuylkill Co., PA 1850 - 1915.⁽³⁹⁴⁾
