8. Henry Irvin CULBERTwas born on 10 Nov 1853, in Chester Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, the eight child of Moses and Jane FLEMING CULBERT. ¹  He was probably born on the Culbert family farm.

In 1879-1880 ^{3 4} Harry was working as a clerk, and boarding at 1232 Providence Avenue, Chester, with his sister-in-law, Margaret CLEGG CULBERT and family.

In the 1880 census, Harry was living with his sister-in-law, Martha CLEGG CULBERT, in the North Ward, Chester, age 26, a clerk in a flour store. ⁵

In the Chester Times for 10 Nov 1881 is the following notice:

"MORTUARY. - Harry I. CULBERT, a young man not more than twenty-eight years old, employed at W.P. EYRE's flour and feed store, died at his home on Providence Avenue, at an early hour this morning from typhoid-pneumonia.  Mr. CULBERT was a large, healthy-looking young man, whose every appearance indicated a long lease of life, and that he should cut down so early surprises many.  He has been sick less than two weeks."

Harry was buried in the Middletown Presbyterian Church cemetery. ²  His gravestone, photographed in 1997, can be seen here: Gravestone
