rh Mary Harris, whose husband, Ron's, Ggrandmother was Charlotte CUTHBERTSON  [Email: rharris at interhop.net]  Last Contact: Aug 2002.  Charlotte was part of a very large family group who left Lanarkshire, Scotland in the early 1800s & went to Bristol Twp., Pontiac County, Quebec, Canada.  Some crossed the Ottawa River into Ontario & settled in the region east of Ottawa (Carleton County).  Spelling errors on some documents show CULVERSON, and also "Oswell CULBERSON" on the birth registration for Oswald CUTHBERTSON.  The Harris' say that James also m. Ellen BLACK, and they had Charlotte CUTHBERTSON and George CUTHBERTSON.  There were other children.  Mary has a photograph of Charlotte c. 1900.

sas 1809 Sasine (record of land transfer) listing James CUTHBERTSON, of Mosside, maltster in Kilmaurs, deceased, as the father of James CUTHBERTSON, of Habbieauld, his son and heir.  Note: Sasines were often done years after the actual transfer of land.
