Cemetery and Homeplace were located
about half way down the hill on the
left of highway 159 before you get
into Concord. The old homeplace was
bought in years past and the house
was torn down. Do not know if the
cemetery was left intact but do not
think that the graves were ever
moved. Ambrose & Sarah are buried
there with some of their children
and some of the MockBees.

Notes for
CAREY MENZIE YELTON:
Carey lost his
right arm, just below the elbow, in
a farming accident. Family history
states that he tied off the stump
and drove himself to the doctor! My
father also claimed that "Pap
Yelton" could side-lift a Model-T
off the ground with his one hand.

Carey Menzie
Yelton
Carey M.
Yelton, aged 76 years, passed on
suddenly at his home on Barclay
street,
Tuesday morning, October 1, 1935,
following a heart attack. Mr.
Yelton
had been in
poor health for over a year, but his
passing came as a shock to his
family and
friends.
Mr. Yelton was
born in Campbell County near Butler
on Feb 12, 1859, and was
the son of the
late Mortimer and Catherine Newkirk
Yelton. He followed the
vocation of a
farmer until a few years ago, when
he retired, and he and Mrs.
Yelton came to
Falmouth to reside.
On June 12,
1883, Mr. Yelton and Miss Emma
Florence Fields were united in
marriage, and
to this union three children were
born. One daughter, Lucy, passed
on in
infancy. A daughter, Mrs. Clarence
Allender of Nicholasville,
Jessamine
county and a son, Horace J. Yelton
of Owenton, Owen county, survive.
Besides his
devoted widow and children, Mr.
Yelton is survived by one sister,
Mrs.
Kate
Montgomery of Liberty Ridge. He is
also survived by one half-sister,
Mrs.
Grace Shipp,
and a half-brother, Chester Yelton,
of Cincinnati.
Mr. Yelton
joined the Lenoxburg Methodist
Church in early boyhood and lived a
fine Christian
life. He was a good father, husband
and neighbor, and he will
be missed
sadly, as his going is the first
time the intimate family circle
has been
broken since the death of the babe
years ago.
Funeral
services will be held on Thursday
afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the
Falmouth
Methodist Church, to be conducted by
Rev. E. L. Griffy. Burial will
take place in
Riverside Cemetery. Funeral
directors Thomas and Parramore are
in
charge of the
arrangements.
The casket
bearers are Menzie Montgomery,
Ernest Montgomery, Arthur Yelton,
Ambrose
Fields, Kenzie Fields and Earl
Allender.

ALLENDER
My great grand
parents Clarence & Nora went out to
tend
the livestock
one morning and left Earl( my
grandfather) to watch over
Florence. She
was tied into a small child's
rocking chair beside the
hearth. When
she started to cry he began to rock
her. Being a child
himself he was
unaware that the chair was moving
toward the fire as it
rocked. As a
result the bottoms of her feel came
too close to the fire
and became
burned. They became infected and she
developed Pneumonia and
died.
